About This Course

This is a flipped classroom course for CB2500 Information Management offered by City University of Hong Kong. The course aims to provide students with hands-on experience on various social analytics and business intelligence tools with particular focus on text topic analysis, association detection, and cluster analysis. Modules 1-3 are compulsory to all CityU students and Modules 4-5 are optional. Using this online platform, students are allowed to set up their own learning scheules, read notes, watch videos, jot notes, take self-assessed module quizzes, and discuss on a class forum. Please note that the performance in this online course won't affect your grade in CB2500. However, the technical skills you learnt in modules 1-3 of this course are related to CB2500 group project. Modules 4-5 provide you with technical skills in learning various techniques on business intelligence.

Dr. Alvin Leung

Alvin Leung is Assistant Professor at Department of Information Systems, College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. His research interests lie at the intersection of IS and Finance. His current research primarily focuses on IT business value, business analytics and information security. His teaching objective is to bring his research into class. He is interested in teaching business strategies and introducing new information technologies to enhance corporate competitive advantages. His works have been published in various leading IS journals and international conference proceedings.

Ron is Dean of Students and Associate Professor at Department of Information Systems, College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. His research interest lies in the areas of health/fitness information systems, technology mediated learning, online collaborative games in education, knowledge integration, and e-leadership. He received two Teaching Excellence Awards (2005-06, 2012-13) from the City University of Hong Kong.

Albert has rich experience in IT industry including information services, mobile application development, researching, software engineering, information security, enterprise application, business intelligent and especially in teaching. In 2008, he received the FB Teaching Excellent Award (Team). He has strong technical skills in Android apps, .NET, Java, ERP, CRM, Data mining, SQL Server, MS Access, Excel, UML,Web Services, PDA Application, AI and BI.
